Eddy Street

I’ve always loved the trees not only in this yard but on this whole block. They’re starting to turn now, and the leaves will have a ways to fall. Years ago, I’d visit one of my hospice patients who had lived on this block since she was a little girl. It’s about half a mile from the river here in town. She remembered when these trees were all short enough that they could watch the river’s Fourth of July fireworks across the neighborhood’s rooftops.

A few more

We took a little trip last weekend. Here’s a glimpse at a few so that I can make up for a few days absent.

The Tree – Take Two

It’s been more than a week, but here it is. In person you can see more red creeping into the leaf tips.

“I’m not quite dead yet, either.”

This leaf reminds me of a watermelon’s coloring.

Oh, yes I did!

One of the wonders of fall: the pumpkin spice latte, Bryant-style.

THE Tree

I love this tree. It towers over Riverside Drive, and each fall its leaves turn gorgeous before turning loose. This year, as in years past, I’ll post a picture each week to show its progress. Here’s the “baseline.”

Sunbather, Part Two

I couldn’t resist. I’ll move on to other subjects after today.

Here she is helping choose a picture. …And yes, I do realize that I’m close to achieving Crazy Cat Lady status.

Sunbather

This was taken through our not-so-clean glass door, but I was afraid she’d move if I opened it. Abby loves catching a patch of sun. She loves the warmth so much that we joke that she’d curl up for a nap on the sun’s surface if she could.
