Last year this tree was tracked by photo once a week. I liked seeing the progress of its color, so here we go again. There’s more yellow visible in person than you can see here.

Last year, I took a picture of this cotton field just before it was to be picked. Â This year, there is nothing here but last year’s stubble! Â Below is the picture from 2010.

Blue House is a great place to take a laptop and work for an hour or so. I love starting off my week there, so I and my mocha-addicted brain were sad to see that they were closed today for maintenance. These trees drop their leaves fairly early every year. I was afraid I’d miss them if I didn’t take some pictures now. From the porch I was happily snapping away when the owner came out to see what I was up to. I guess he decided I wasn’t too menacing. =)

A simmering pot of soup on the stove is one of the great things about fall and winter. Here, the beginnings of chicken and wild rice soup…crafted by candlelight, of course. =) (Kara, thanks for the food/photo inspiration.)
