more from Abilene State Park

I took this in raw, and this is using the camera’s black and white mode. The color view is posted today on my personal blog.

I couldn’t decide between these two, and since the challenge is “officially” over, I don’t feel bad about doing what I want and uploading both.

bradford pear

These are the greatest trees. Red leaves in fall, and it flowers out in the spring. That’s why we had to plant one in the backyard.

Last Sunday’s Picture – the moon and the cross

I have been using a different camera all week, so this one has been sitting on the camera. It was right after sunrise while the sky is still fairly dark. Once again, I am discovering how the polarizing filter darkens down the corners when pointed away from the sun. I didn’t mess with the picture to get those dark corners.

blowing dust

Okay, this was playing around with the camera’s art filters-which is basically in camera photoshop. You’ll be shocked to know that it wasn’t b&w and grainy in real life.

Leaves on a sidewalk

Since it’s impossible in this high wind to get a closeup picture of leaves on the tree, you get the ones that are sitting on the sidewalk instead.

Friday morning at the coffeehouse

I have really enjoyed taking pictures this month and I’ve thought the website has worked great. But, we’ve all been lamenting that fact that it hasn’t looked or felt like fall. And so I spent a whole 5 seconds thinking this morning about what would make the autumn challenge even more awesome, and I came up with one word – HAIKU! So, here is my silly little haiku (because I am in one of those moods today).

Oh fall where are you

For those who have never seen this before, you do a long exposure and use a little flashlight to “paint” whatever you want.

I can honestly say that my picture for today is just fall colored as Kara’s!

Oh, and this was taken at a city park in San Saba, Texas.
