a great way to spend a fall night

The nice part about wifi is that I’m still seeing this same scene while I am posting this picture. So I kind of feel like you’re all here with us. Alison says, “Hi!”

refresco

I wasn’t going to post today since I didn’t get any pictures taken, but I wanted to since it’s October 13th. I love mexican cokes (made with real sugar instead of corn syrup). And I thought it had a good word for today-refresco!

Yet another branch picture. Wow, we haven’t had any of those yet.

An American Sunrise

My camera phone really struggles in lower light. The part of the sky that looks like it is on fire was not that bright in real life.

mountain aspens
Posted by David On October 8, 2010
A couple of months ago, Alison volunteered for work to go up to Cloudcroft for a day. She volunteered so we could be there in fall and we could see the awesome aspen colors there. Do you know how hard it was to pick one picture for today?!?!
(I edited this to say that I wanted you to be able to see where this picture came from. I went ahead and posted a broad landscapey shot on my blog to show it. Head to here to see the other picture.)

the walgreens tree

My Wednesdays are pretty busy, so I grabbed the keychain camera as I went to Walgreens. This camera is a little 1.3 megapixel keychain camera that is tiny, unpredictable and, honestly, kinda awesome. It takes such bad pictures that I love them – highly saturated, dark corners, crazy focus, etc. This one looks pretty normal compared to what it usually does.

Catchy title, eh? And like some other pictures today, I think the leaves in my picture look like they’re dying too.

a tough choice
Posted by David On October 3, 2010
Since Sundays are busy for me, I took my camera with me when I left for church this morning. I took three great pictures in three very different ways. I was able to take out the sunrise picture taken with the camera phone, but I couldn’t decide between these two. So, I will post them both.
There’s a good chance you’ll see this on my personal blog tomorrow because I really love it. This was the camera sitting on the dash while I steered with the other hand. A half second exposure gets some light trails and it’s a neat picture. Alison likes this next one so I am including it as well.
A fall painting
Posted by David On October 2, 2010
I was headed for bed when I decided I wasn’t emotionally ready to fail at the autumn challenge on the second day. So, I took this. Here is a picture of my favorite fall painting in the house. And here is a picture of the painting so you can see what it looks like.

“Eat something green!”
Posted by David On October 1, 2010
Anyone remember when you were a kid and you hated eating vegetables? And your mom or dad would always make you eat something green because that’s the color of vegetables? One time I got away with eating pistachio salad just because it was green (it’s not vegetable related AT ALL!). I’m taking that concept for today’s picture. This leaf is not autumn colored because it’s autumn. It’s that color because it’s dead and caught in the branches of the tree. But, just like having to eat something green colored, this one is close enough for me today.
