Okay, so not much autumnal color here, but I figure that these funky acorns can only be an autumn phenomena.
We have a big oak in back and I never would have realized that the acorns were different, except I have been looking in detail at the trees with our challenge. These are bizarre. They are about the size of small apples. There aren’t very many of them (I would guess less than 20-25 on the entire tree…I could actually see about 12) and I didn’t see any on the ground. It will be interesting to see what they do/change as we progress through autumn.

“Funky” indeed! They look like they could be like those underwater things you see moving around at the bottom of the ocean.
Yeah, those ARE freaky! I’m interested to see what happens to them as the season progresses. 🙂
